Ganesha is the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and also the brother of Kartikeya, the god of war. Lord Ganesha or Ganesh is also known as Ganapati and Vinayaka, who has the title as the god of knowledge and intelligence, the god of protection and the remover of obstacles.

Details of the other hands are difficult to make out on the statue shown. In the standard configuration, Ganesha typically holds an axe in one upper arm and a lotus in the other upper arm.
